BackgroundThe ENGAGE project motivation stands in the shared awareness among the consortium that schools are facing a very relevant and challenging issue, linked to the effects of student disengagement and implicit school dropout at lower secondary school. The main identified causes of the phenomenon are insufficient personalization and consideration of emotional needs, inadequate support systems, relevance of the educational offer, high-stakes testing pressure, mismatched learning styles, social isolation, socioeconomic disparities etc.
