Meeting in Rome

The Erasmus Engage project, led by RenaSup and its European partners, aims to combat #disengagement and implicit #dropout in middle school. We were delighted to meet again with our colleagues from Poland (Szkola Podstawowa nr 5 in Swidnik), Bulgaria (8th SOU “Vasil Levski” in Sofia), Romania (EuroEd in Iasi), and Italy (Pixel in Florence, CONFAO, and IC Visconti in Rome) to continue this work at the end of last week. This fourth meeting was held in Rome, at the Istituto Comprensivo “Ennio Quirino Visconti,” which overlooks remarkable Roman ruins. The entire school community will benefit from the results of Engage: teachers, families, and counselors will acquire the necessary skills to identify the early signs of disengagement and dropping out. During the initial phase, each partner contributed to a collection of case studies on these warning signs and strategies for preventing further escalation. We continued to work on Service Learning, an inclusive tool that makes learning concrete while serving the community. The goal is for teachers, families, and school counselors to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to identify early signs of student disengagement and implied school dropout. This will allow the entire school community to benefit from the results of the Engage project.

ENGAGE Project Partner Meeting in Florence

On 23–24 January 2025, school psychologists from 8th Secondary School “Vasil Levski”, Sofia, participated in the second ENGAGE partner meeting in Florence, Italy. Partners discussed cases of student disengagement, reviewed prevention strategies and planned upcoming project activities.
